What does your company do and what kind of value does your company create?
Elenger is the largest privately-owned energy company in the Baltic-Finnish region. Our mission is to improve people’s quality of life by saving energy and protecting the environment. Elenger’s business portfolio covers the full spectrum – energy sales and trading, energy infrastructure, and energy production. We operate in six markets – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, and Germany – and serve approximately 450,000 customers.
What motivated you to join GreenDice?
We value initiatives that address environmental and waste issues in a meaningful way, offering real solutions that work, not just ones that sound good.
Have you implemented green and circular economy principles in your company and how?
Elenger Grupp is certified according to the ISO 14001 standard, which defines the requirements for an environmental management system. We have established a methodology to identify and assess environmental aspects related to our activities and apply corrective measures in cases of significant environmental impact. We operate based on sustainability and responsibility principles, striving to reduce both direct and indirect environmental impact – using energy-efficient solutions, reducing waste through recycling, disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with laws, raising employee awareness of environmental safety, and encouraging participation in voluntary environmental activities.
We also work continuously to turn our core product natural gas sustainable. In 2025, already 10% of the gas consumption in Estonia is locally produced renewable biomethane.
Why is it important for your company to contribute to the development of Estonia and the rest of society?
Elenger’s underlying goal is to have strong reputation and run profitable business operations. We believe that sustainable development is an essential and inseparable part of creating value for customers, employees, stakeholders, and society as a whole. We are convinced that companies operating on the principles of sustainability and responsibility are more successful in the long run.
